To say it simply, I teach through lectures, examples and practise. I give homeworks, so it is crucial for the student's success to practice solving homework problems prior to a lesson.
I have greatly amassed online teaching experience in the last four years. I am most comfortable with either Zoom or Google Meet platforms.
When I was a math olympiad student, my highest bid was always on Geometry problems. Even now, I feel more joy teaching geometry topics. Judging from my experience, curriculum in olympiad math almost never changes, only the trends do. So, in the longterm, my students are always ready for any changes in trends.
I usually ask parents to give some encouragements from their side in case a child lacks some dedication towards studying. Also, I ask parents to make sure that their child has sufficient time do complete his/her homework.
I do provide homework assignments and/or external links.
If during the lesson, student solves the problems on the covered topic, I see it a successful job explaining the topic. Then, we just strenghten the understanding by solving homework problems.
